As an artist, my perspective is shaped by a diverse range of experiences. As a queer artist and mixed child of migrants, I strive to reflect my unique perspective through digital artwork. One of my recent projects, Camino, offers players an interactive narrative that explores themes of Afro-surrealism, abandonment, and colonization, with a narrative and setting sourced from my own Afrocuban heritage, folklore and diasporic family history. The themes of identity, culture, and history that I incorporate in my artwork are aimed at challenging viewers and encouraging them to see the world from a new perspective.
I aim to produce a range of sophisticated digital stories that help people transcend their beliefs and assumptions. Through comprehensive knowledge of storytelling principles and an understanding of technical processes, I am confident in achieving this dream. By continuing my studies in the Digital Media Arts Program at San Jose State University, I hope to develop my skills and push storytelling boundaries. My portfolio showcases artworks in cinematography, and digital art, and published Unity indie games, which emphasize my identity, culture, and personal character. I am proficient in various programs and tools, including Procreate, Maya, Illustrator, Unreal 5, blender, and Photoshop, allowing me to make my creative visions into a reality.
My passion lies in creating immersive stories that transport audiences to diverse and stimulating worlds, challenging them to think deeply about themselves and the status quo. As an artist, I am drawn to the dynamic aspects of digital media, including virtual production techniques, game development, and 3D modeling. I aspire to combine my passion for special effects and technology by pursuing a career as a specialized artist, utilizing my skills to create innovative and captivating visual experiences.
